Watch A 1982 Roundtable With Directors David Cronenberg, John Landis & John Carpenter Discussing Their Craft

The early ‘80s was a great time for horror movies.  In 1982, Universal publicity and marketing specialist Mick Garris was tasked with spreading the word out on the studio’s new set of horror and science fiction films.

As part of that task, he produced and hosted, a 25-minute roundtable discussion between horror icons David Cronenberg, John Carpenter and John Landis, all of whom were working on projects at Universal at the time.

Though it was originally created as a promo, thirty years later, the footage provides unique insight to the filmmakers’ views on topics ranging from special effects to the ratings system.
