Warwick Davis has been busy since the day that production wrapped on The Return of the Jedi. If you’re a big Star Wars fan, you will likely know of his role as Wicket, the Ewok that helps the Rebel Alliance finally defeat the Empire. He was only eleven years old at the time, and it was his first credited film role. Warwick’s grandmother heard a radio announcement calling for people under 4 feet in height to audition. She took him, then 2-foot-11, to the audition and he won the role.
And as an extremely polite young fella, he wrote to George Lucas after Episode VI completed to thank him for the opportunity.
This has got to be one of my favourite vintage things I’ve found on the web.
