I’m sure that Dante Basco won’t be the last child actor who struggles to act his way out from underneath that deep connection fans have with him. In Basco’s case, he played the beloved Rufio, one of the anti-heroes in Steven Spielberg’s Hook. He had some of the film’s best lines; every member of the Lost Boys looked up to him. He even had the ultimate character redemption. For those kids who grew up loving that movie, that’s a hard thing to shake. Even I had hard time not picturing him as Rufio while watching this clip.
YouTubers The Younger Statesmen [hilariously]exploit Basco’s fame, which should now be overshadowed by his brilliant self-deprecation.
