Paramount Pictures has released five new character spots for director Jon M.Chu’s upcoming G.I Joe adaptation G.I. Joe: Retaliation. In this sequel, the Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy, Cobra, they are forced to contend with threats from within the U.S. government.
The five featurettes focus on Channing Tatum’s Duke, Adrianne Palicki’s Lady Jaye, D.J. Cotrona’s Flint, Bruce Willis’ General Joe Colton and Byung-Hun Lee’s Storm Shadow. The Storm Shadow spot is very interesting and includes a couple of interviews giving more insight to the character and an intro by RZA.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s long-delayed arrival in theaters is less than a month away and even if the movie is garbage I will always be thankful the trailers introduced me to Glitch Mob’s remix of The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army.
The cast also includes Dwayne Johnson, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, RZA and Ray Stevenson.
A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.
