Kill Your Darlings debuted at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and has received some positive critical acclaim. The story focuses on the formative years of Allen Ginsberg, played by Daniel Radcliffe, who according to Justin Chang of Variety, “brings a solid physical likeness and a naturally sympathetic bearing to the role [...] portrayed here in his formative years as a sensitive and promising poet embarking on his freshman year at Columbia in 1944.”
The film was directed by newcomer John Krokidas, who co-wrote the script with Austin Bunn. The incredible ensemble cast is led by Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan, who plays the enabler to Ginsberg’s troubles. Michael C. Hall, Ben Foster, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Elizabeth Olsen, David Cross, Jack Huston and Kyra Sedgwick also star.
