Three new posters have been dropped by Empire Magazine this past week. They feature Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce), Sir Ben Kingsley (The Mandarin) and Rhodie (Don Cheadle).
Two out of the three are different than I expected them to be. The poster for Guy Pearce is as expected, portraying Killian as a slick businessman type with a scowl that scream, “I HAVE AN EVIL AGENDA”.
The poster for The Mandarin presents the evil string-puller in a fairly relaxed position. He kind of reminds me of a war-lord archetype that we’ve seen on screen before. I had envisioned his poster being backlit, shadows covering most of his face, but a direct light hitting his ten rings.
Finally, it’s just weird to see Rhodie in the Iron Patriot armour. I’m curious to see how his “relationship” with War Machine will evolve in Iron Man 3 when it hits theatres May 3rd!
Iron Man 3pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Iron Man 3 opens in 3D and 2D theaters on May 3, 2013. Directed by Shane Black, the action adventure stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley.
