The Trailer for ‘August: Osage County’ Starring Meryl Streep & An Incredible Ensemble

August: Osage County is directed by John Wells and adapted by Tracy Letts, who authored the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play of the same name.  The trailer introduces us to the incredible cast which, together, weave a story of family, togetherness, heartbreak and kinship.

The film stars Meryl Streep as the family’s matriarch, Julia Roberts as the eldest child, followed by the rest of the family: Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Margot Martindale, Chris Cooper, Dermot Mulroney, Juliette Lewis, Misty Upham, Abigail Breslin, and the great Sam Shepard.  It’s produced by The Weinstein Company (who seem to want to continue their winning streak with the Academy).

Can casting directors get Oscars? Holy s#!t.  August: Osage County opens on November 8th.

The story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
