The New ‘Man of Steel’ Trailer, Entitled “Fate Of Your Planet”, Is Made Almost Entirely of New Footage

Warner Bros. has dropped a very intense new trailer for Man of Steel, entitled “Fate of Your Planet”.  We’re delighted to see all the new footage here, as it nicely ties in with the General Zod viral video we post a couple of weeks ago.  The tone of this new trailer is different from the others, which felt inspirationally heavy-handed.  Though most of the marketing thus far has focused more on Kal-El’s internal conflicts, this new trailer is all action, in case you were worried Zack Snyder’s vision wouldn’t have any.

The trade-off? This trailer might have revealed a little too much.  I want this movie to really surprise me and win me over as a fan.  I don’t want the excitement to fall flat when I walk out of the theatre because I’ve seen snippets of all the good parts.  The scene where Superman is reaching out from inside a pile of skulls!? That sh*t is dark!  I wish I could un-see that.  That would have been really great to see in the movie first.

Along with the trailer comes three new posters with Kal-El, his father (Russell Crowe), and General Zod (Michael Shannon).  Man of Steel opens June 14th.

Next summer, “Man of Steel” is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.
