The International Trailer for Keanu Reeves’ Directorial Debut, Man of Tai Chi

Universal has released an international trailer for Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi.  If you’re into tournament fighting films, it looks likes Reeves and writer Michael G. Cooney have crafted something special.

This is a fight movie, through and through.  Reeves has gone on record stating that this film is packed with over forty minutes of fighting time.  You don’t watch this movie for acting, you don’t watch it for story… you watch it to see masters at the top of their game.  To help sell the action, he’s hired some of the best in the business, including Simon Yam (Ip Man), and Iko Uwais (The Raid: Redemption).

The film follows a young martial artist (Tiger Hu Chen) who’s lured into an underground tournament led by a sadistic obsessive, played by Reeves.  The action sequences are said to be innovative, thanks to a unique camera rig built on a 360 degree rotating arm that follows the fights.

There’s no release date set, but it will no doubt make the rounds at upcoming film festivals.
