Star Trek Into Darkness is entering the twilight of its theatrical release, having earned over $200 million at the box office. Though that may seem like a lot, Paramount Pictures has been vocal about its disappointment. Being that the film was made for $190 million, it has a long way to go before it will earn the kind of money the studio had intended for it.
It’s always great to see some of the hard work that went into creating big blockbusters like this, despite any one-sided disappointment. The film may be massive in scale and imagination, we must remember that every detail has to be approved, from uniform colour to every lens flare. io9 revealed some of the concept art for Into Darkness, featuring the costume designs for the revamped Klingons, the space jump suit, the aliens seen at the beginning, and Spock’s Volcano suit.
