In R.I.P.D., the dead come alive and it’s the job of two officers, played by Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, to send them back from whence they came. Directed by Robert Schwentke (RED) and written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, this movie is produced by the folks that have brought us the Fast & Furious films.
I’m still reserving my better judgement for when I see this movie. For now, I’m assuming this Men In Black clone will probably be mildly entertaining, both in terms of its action and comedy. Although, I’m having a hard time swallowing the 100% computer-generated bad guys.
Looks like Reynolds is his usual wise-ass self, while Bridges seems to bring Rooster Cogburn back to life. If this movie can match the quality of the first Men In Black, I’d be just fine with seeing these two return for more gun-slinging fun. In this promotional featurette, we hear from the two leads as they discuss their characters and relationship. Some new footage is thrown in for good measure…
R.I.P.D opens in theatres on July 19th.
Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds headline the 3D supernatural action-adventure R.I.P.D. as two cops dispatched by the otherworldly Rest In Peace Department to protect and serve the living from an increasingly destructive array of souls who refuse to move peacefully to the other side. R.I.P.D. is directed by Robert Schwentke (Red) and produced by Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious series, I Am Legend), Mike Richardson (Hellboy, Hellboy II: The Golden Army) and Michael Fottrell (Fast & Furious series, Live Free or Die Hard).
