A batch of photos have surfaced online from the set of Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot Man of Steel. The film will be more of a coming-of-age story than any other Superman film we’ve seen before and will focus on Clark Kent coming to terms with Superman and trying to find his place in the world.
These latest photos (dated 2011) are of a shirtless bearded Cavill on the set. It looks like this scene takes place after he has left Smallville but before he embraces his alter-ego Superman. I think we see a finished shot from this scene in the trailer with Cavill surrounded by fire/on fire.
Useless fact, Stephanie Meyer originally wanted Henry Cavill to star as Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise. She referred to him a ‘my perfect Edward’.
Next summer, “Man of Steel” is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.
