New Trailer for August: Osage County Starring Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor & More

Some film’s have that Academy Award “feel”; and a large part of that is casting.  How many well-respected talents can you stuff into an ensemble? In the case of August: Osage County, the number is in excess of twelve.  Not bad.

August: Osage County is directed by John Wells (The Company Men) and written by Tracy Letts (based on her play).  It seems like the perfect Christmas movie through which audiences and their own family dramas and idiosyncrasies can live.  The film dissects the personalities of the strong-willed women of the Weston family during a reunion caused by an internal crisis.  It stars Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Juliette Lewis, Abigail Breslin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dermot Mulroney, Julianne Nicholson, Sam Shepard, Chris Cooper, Margo Martindale and Misty Upham.

August: Osage Countis due out in theatres on January 2nd, 2014.

‘August: Osage County’ tells the dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
