Paramount Pictures has (via Yahoo) released a new red-band trailer for director Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain. The film is based on a true story of the ‘Sun Gym Gang’ and centers around a trio of Miami bodybuilders that gets caught up in an extortion and kidnapping scheme that goes wrong in the worst way.
The trailer focuses on the combination of action and humor, which seems fitting with a cast that includes Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Ken Jeong and Rebel Wilson. I don’t generally get excited for Michael Bay films but this could turn into his best picture since The Rock.
The supporting cast includes Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Anthony Mackie, Bar Paly and Tony Shalhoub.
From acclaimed director Michael Bay comes “Pain & Gain,” a new action comedy starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie. Based on the unbelievable true story of three personal trainers in 1990s Miami who, in pursuit of the American Dream, get caught up in a criminal enterprise that goes horribly wrong. Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub, Rob Corddry, Rebel Wilson and Bar Paly also star. The film is based on magazine articles by Pete Collins, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and produced by Donald DeLine, Michael Bay and Ian Bryce.
