Dreamworks has released a new trailer and featurette for their upcoming 3D computer-animated sports comedy flick Turbo. The film centers around an ordinary snail who dreams of becoming the greatest racer in the world and, after a chance encounter with some nitrous fuel, he gets his wish.
Anytime I see Dreamworks animation or Pixar on a poster for an animated film, it instantly becomes worth paying attention to. Director David Soren has been working on Dreamworks animated films for more than a decade, including Shark Tale, Shrek and various films in the Madagascar franchise. That’s a pretty good upbringing in the industry.
The voice talent includes Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Kurtwood Smith, Snoop Dogg and Samuel L. Jackson.
From the makers of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, Turbo is a high-velocity 3D comedy about an underdog snail who kicks into overdrive when he miraculously attains the power of super-speed. But after making fast friends with a crew of streetwise, tricked-out es-car-goes, Turbo learns that no one succeeds on their own. So he puts his heart and shell on the line to help his pals achieve their dreams, before Turbo-charging his own impossible dream: winning the Indy 500.
