New Featurette, Red-Band Trailer & First Clip For Spike Lee’s Oldboy Starring Josh Brolin

FilmDistrict has released a new batch of promotional material from Spike Lee’s upcoming remake Oldboy.  The film follows Joe Doucett,(Josh Brolin) who is inexplicably kidnapped and imprisoned on his daughters birthday. For twenty years he is held captive, and upon his release must begin his journey to find the reason for his imprisonment. He soon finds out that his kidnapper has plans for him more tortuous than his solitary confinement. Sharlto Copley plays Adrian Pryce a mysterious billionaire out to destroy Joe’s life.  This first clip chronicles Doucett meeting Pryce for the first time after he’s released from the hotel.

The latest featurette focuses on Doucett/Josh Brolin’s training and preparation in hopes of being released and seeking revenge against the people who put him there.  I don’t know how many people are clamoring for a reimagining of Oldboy, its going to be tricky to surpass the impact of the original but hopefully Lee can add something new.

The supporting cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Richard Portnow, Michael Imperioli and Lance Reddick.
