Paramount’s marketing campaign is pushing into top speed for their upcoming comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and with the decade long wait only a few weeks away, I don’t think I can get enough of the former Channel 4 news team. In an interesting twist most of the marketing has been spent on the characters and not on the film, which is great because there isn’t any risk of spoiling any type of plot.
The films plot focuses on Ron Burgundy leaving his beloved San Diego for New York and working for a 24-hour news channel. All of the cast is back and the newcomers include but not limited to Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Dylan Baker, Greg Kinnear, Liam Neeson, Tina Fey, James Marsden, Kirsten Dunst, Sacha Baron Cohen, Meagan Good and Harrison Ford.
With the 70′s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy…while taking the nation’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
