Sony has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for This Is The End. The plot centers around a party at James Franco’s house as the apocalypse unexpectedly begins and the comedic crew barricade themselves in to survive.
In the featurette, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson discuss their characters and these sensationalized cinematic versions of themselves they play. Some of the extensive supporting cast are playing against type for laughs, but the featurette suggests the leads are playing extreme versions of their own personae.
The film marks the directorial debut of Seth Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg, and the supporting cast includes Emma Watson, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, Paul Rudd, Martin Starr, Mindy Kaling, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, and Rihanna.
The comedy This is the End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
