New Behind-The-Scenes Featurette For Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger Starring Armie Hammer And Johnny Depp

Disney has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for director Gore Verbinski’s upcoming western The Lone Ranger.  The film’s plot centers around John Reid’s transformation into the Lone Ranger, and how he first paired up with Tonto to battle injustice.

This latest featurette focuses on the principle photography of the (reportedly) $250 million action-adventure adaptation.  It’s nice to see the lengths the production went to obtain as much practical footage as possible and not just shoot in a studio relying on green screens and post-production visual effects.

The featurette shows the risk involved in that process as Johnny Depp is shown falling of his horse mid-stride during a chase sequence.

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
