This weekend Star Trek Into Darkness opened in theaters to widespread critical acclaim and commercial success. But like any property with a popular fan-base, it’s been put under an extra tier of criticism. One of the most widespread criticisms that has surfaced is that J.J. Abrams and his writers ‘unnecessarily’ included a shot of Alice Eve in, shall we say, non-Star Fleet attire.
To help combat the criticism, Abrams made an appearance on Conan and addressed his intentions for the scene and was very upfront about how he felt he executed the scene poorly. To help apologize he brought a cut scene of Benedict Cumberbatch showering.
