Maybe Jeff Daniels is feeling a bit of winner’s guilt after receiving his Emmy for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Newsroom? If he is, I respect the way he’s decided to give back to his fans.
Channeling this generosity through Jim Carrey’s Twitter account, the dynamic duo – who are reuniting a whopping twenty years later for Dumb and Dumber To - decided to give us a behind-the-scenes sneak peak. We don’t know much else thus far, besides a vague plot outline: the pair head out in search of one of their long lost children in the hope of gaining a new kidney.
Following the Emmy Awards on Sunday night, Daniels spoke to E! about his future plans. Apparently, he didn’t have much time to celebrate given the film’s shooting schedule…
“We’re going to party ’til dawn and then I’m going to get on a plane and go to Atlanta and start shooting Dumb and Dumber To. The intellectual free-fall from [Will] MacAvoy to Harry Dunn, imagine if you will.”
“The scariest thing? There are some things that’s we’re going to do in Dumb and Dumber To that make the toilet scene [in the original]seem lame. Pales in comparison and I can’t divulge what, but just that they’ve topped it. They best thing about it? I get to work with a comedic genius.”
Though no release date has yet been set for the film (some time in 2014), you can expect a lot more media to come from Twitter. This could easily be one of the most anticipated comedies of 2014.
The image above and below have emerged on Carrey’s Twitter over the last 24 hours. The most recent is embedded below.
