As a kid, I was terrified of Gary Oldman. He played bad guys so well that even when his character wasn’t intended to be a villain, a dark side was clearly visible to the audience. I snuck a viewing our copy of Immortal Beloved on VHS after overhearing my parents talk about how good it was. It freaked me out; so, that’s where it all started. The Professional didn’t help either.
Oldman has always had that ability of disappearing into characters, no matter their genealogy or origin. And his very talented ear for accents and has always been a big part of that ability.
Vulture has put together a brief, sixty second supercut demoing this rare skill.
