Diana, the anticipated biopic about Princess Diana’s final two years following her divorce from Prince Charles, has finally received a trailer. The long-awaited film has had “Oscar Bait” stamped on it from the day it started filming. Though we don’t hear any dialogue in this trailer, boy, does Naomi Watts look wonderful in the role.
The film was written by Stephen Jeffreys (The Libertine) and is directed by Oliver Hirshbiegel (Downfall). Naveen Andrews co-stars as Dr. Hasnat Khan, a Pakistani surgeon she fell in love with and had dubbed “Mr. Wonderful”. The film has been snagged by international distributors and was pre-sold in Berlin to over 40 territories including UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Japan, Scandinavia, Benelux, Australia & New Zealand, CIS, Latin America.
Currently, the film has no US release date set. It will be opening in UK theatres on September 20, 2013.

One of the most famous and beautiful women in the world, she hoped to persuade Dr. Khan’s mother that she would make a suitable wife for her son.
