First Trailer For Ron Howard’s F1 Race Flick ‘Rush’ Starring Chris Hemsworth And Daniel Brühl

The first trailer for director Ron Howard’s biographical Formula One racing film Rush has been released online.  The film is set in the 70’s and centers around a pair of F1 racing rivals, Austrian driver Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl) and British driver James Hunt, in pursuit of the 1976 world championship.

It’s been a couple years since a really great Ron Howard film, but his track record with ‘based on a true story’ films is one of the best around – I’m thinking Apollo 13, Cinderella Man and A Beautiful Mind.  There is a lot to like here and hopefully everything comes together.

The supporting cast for the film includes Olivia Wilde, Natalie Dormer and Christian McKay.

Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, RUSH portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy James Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Niki Lauda.  Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, RUSH follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error.
