First Teaser Trailer for The Counselor Starring Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem Cameron Diaz & More

When I first heard that Ridley Scott would be directing the first original screenplay by the Pulitzer Prize-winning Cormac McCarthy (The Road, No Country For Old Men), the project known as The Counselor was immediately jotted down on my “Must Watch” list for 2013.  Coming this fall, the film stars Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz and Penélope Cruz in a story about a well-established lawyer who thinks he can dabble in the drug trade without getting too deep.

That never ends well.  Deadline, who got an early peak at the script, described the story as follows…

The terrain of the script is reminiscent of the rough and tumble world depicted in “No Country For Old Men”. The protagonist in “The Counselor” is a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe in to the drug business without getting sucked down. It is a bad decision and he tries his best to survive it and get out of a desperate situation.

The film is expected to be released on October 25th.  Check out the teaser trailer and the latest official images below…
