The first images have surfaced online for writer/director Peter Landesman Parkland. The Tom Hanks produced film is a recounting of the chaotic events that occurred at Dallas’ Parkland Hospital on the day JFK was assassinated and how the hospital staff dealt with the events.
Parkland marks Landesman’s directorial debut follows Lee Harvey Oswald (Jeremy Strong) and centers around the ground-level figures that played vital roles on November 22nd, 1963.
The first series of images show Billy Bob Thornton as Forrest Sorrels, the head of Dallas’ Secret Service office and Marcia Gay Harden as the head nurse in the trauma room. We also get a look at Paul Giamatti as Abraham Zapruder, the man who just happened to be filming the motorcade and Zac Efron playing a rookie doctor in the trauma room.
Recounting the chaotic events that occurred in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, Parkland weaves together the perspectives of a handful of ordinary individuals suddenly thrust into extraordinary circumstances: the young doctors and nurses at Parkland Hospital; Dallas’ chief of the Secret Service; an unwitting cameraman who captured what became the most watched and examined film in history; the FBI agents who nearly had the gunman within their grasp; the brother of Lee Harvey Oswald, left to deal with his shattered family; and JFK’s security team, witnesses to both the president’s death and Vice President Lyndon Johnson’s rise to power over a nation whose innocence was forever altered.
