Paramount has released the first trailers for director Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic Noah. This looks awesome, any concerns of indie director Aronofsky handling a huge production seem to be answered, the visuals look stunning without being cartoony.
The film is an adaptation of the well-known Biblical tale, Noah receives a vision of ‘death by water’, which he see’s as a divine message to build an ark and fill it with two of every species (including snakes) before God purges the Earth. Russell Crowe plays the title character, who is described as more of warrior living in savage world then the Sunday school version.
Aronofsky has said he doesn’t think of his film as a religious story but Paramount seems keen on getting the film in front of audiences during a the same time of the calendar year Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ was released almost a decade ago.
The supporting cast includes Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Anthony Hopkins.
Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe stars as Noah, a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world.
