First Poster & Trailer For The Family Starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones

Relativity Media has released the first trailer for writer/director Luc Besson’s The Family.    The film centers around a former mafia boss turned snitch relocated from America to the French countryside by the federal witness protection program.  Ultimately, old habits die hard, and his antics lead and his former mafia associates track him down.

Everything sounds great in theory, but this trailer isn’t what I was looking for.  Robert De Niro as a mafia boss, Michelle Pfeiffer (aka. Tony Montana’s wife) as a mafia wife – that should be awesome, but it looks like they are going more for the Analyze This, The Whole Nine Yards kinda movie versus a Goodfellas family mob movie.

The supporting cast includes Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron, and John D’Leo.

A mafia boss and his family are relocated to a sleepy town in France under the witness protection program after snitching on the mob. Despite the best efforts of Agent Stansfield to keep them in line, Fred Manzoni, his wife Maggie and their children Belle and Warren can’t help but revert to old habits and blow their cover by handling their problems the “family” way, enabling their former mafia cronies to track them down.
