First Poster And Trailer For Out Of The Furnace Starring Christian Bale, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck And Zoe Saldana

Relativity Media has released the first trailer for Leonardo DiCaprio, Tony Scott and Ridley Scott’s produced American thriller Out of the Furnace.  The film centers around two brothers (Christian Bale & Casey Affleck) from a struggling mill town in the Rust Belt.  When the younger brother mysteriously disappears after getting involved in a local crime ring and law enforcement has no answers, his older brother goes looking for his own justice.

The script is written by director Scott Cooper and Brad Ingelsby and marks Cooper’s follow up to his 2009 directorial debut Crazy Heart.  A lot to like here and i’m happy to see crazy evil Woody Harrelson.  The whole cast looks spot on and could be in the conversation for acting awards come awards season.

The rest of the supporting cast includes Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoë Saldana and Sam Shepard.

The film is a drama about fate, circumstance, and redemption. Russell and his younger brother live in the economically depressed Rust Belt, and have always dreamed of escaping and finding better lives. But when a cruel twist of fate lands Russell in prison, his brother is lured into one of the most violent and ruthless crime rings in the Northeast – a mistake that will almost cost him everything.  Once released, Russell must choose between his own freedom, or risk it all to seek justice for his brother.
