First Look At Caesar In Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes

Fox released the first footage from director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes at Comic-Con during their panel.  Unfortunately there wasn’t much ape footage for the simple reason that the film is still in-production and it takes 10-12 weeks to yield a completed ape shot.

The sequel takes place 10 years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes, in a world where the virus that killed humans made apes smarter and Caeser is teaching his fellow apes how to communicate.

The sequel stars Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Toby Kebbell, Judy Greer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Kirk Acevedo and Andy Serkis as Caesar.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.  They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth¹s dominant species.
