CBS Films has released a new trailer for Inside Llewyn Davis, starring Oscar Isaac. The Coen Brothers’ latest movie about a struggling folk singer set in Greenwich Village circa 1961, has remained high on my list as a film to be excited for in 2013. This latest trailer, soundtracked by Isaac and Marcus Mumford performing one of the film’s keynote cover tunes “Fare Thee Well”, is both moving as it is enticing. It feels as if it were edited to be reminiscent of movie trailers from the era in which the story is set. It’s so very Coen Brothers.
The film also stars Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, and John Goodman. The soundtrack will be made available on September 17th, but you’ll have to wait and see the movie on December 6th.
INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles—some of them of his own making.
