The Wolf Pack is back for another round of punishment in The Hangover Part III, starting May 24th. Will this be yet another copy of the format the first two films followed so closely? According to director Todd Phillips, it ain’t.
According to him, the story – which still remains mostly a secret – will tie directly back to the first film. Instead of redoing the heavy drinking followed by migraine-inducing chaos arc, the story of part three follows Stu, Alan and Phil and how their lives were changed after they bought drugs from “Black Doug” in part one. According to Phillips, that decision “basically fucked up their lives for six years”.
I’m happy they are refreshing the story. Ken Jeong plays a bigger part here, returning as Chow, who becomes a necessary evil when Doug’s life is in danger. Let’s hope that Phillips and company bring the funny when it hits theatres at the end of the month.
Here’s a brand new one-minute clip, plus several hi-res character posters for co-stars John Goodman, the giraffe that Alan accidentally kills with a highway overpass, Heather Graham, Ken Jeong and…a rooster?
“The Hangover Part III” is the third and final film in director Todd Phillips’ record-shattering comedy franchise. This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.
